A utocross was a blast! The only other FWD cars were HART’s CRZ, Civics Si, and an Integra. My best time was 47.65. My friend in a V6 Firebird got 46.42.
Surprisingly I didn't break either!

The cabbies can actually do it more than the hatch, because their chassis is actually stiffer

Awesome, I’m glad to hear it went well.

It’s not a vw autocrossing if it doesn't look like a dog taking a piss

Yup, even in hard cornering on a circuit. Inner rears lift all the time.

Do the ones past Mk3 have the rear axle beam? I figure that's a part of it

Well the ones that run do, at least
That surprises me. I figured it was floppier, but apparently not. I think I'm gonna get some lower/harder suspension. It rides a bit high.

Karmann way over built them, as they often do. The structure that they added in the back, combined with the roll hoop make it stronger then VW’s roof.

Huh. What rear structed did they add? Do you mean the pan reinforcements?

Everything in grey in this picture he biggest part is the tunnel between the rear wheels. But you can see the front strut towers, and door sills as well.

Ooh that’s a good diagram. I need a Bentley for this car. Most of the stuff is the same aa Mk3 but it’d be nice.
Have you had a chance to tinker with your car yet? Summer is fading!
